FAQS ABOUT
IDENTITY THERAPY
WHY IS IDENTITY THERAPY INPORTANT?
We know that our well being is affected by the relationship we have with ourselves. Understanding yourself and accepting your true, authentic self can lead to incredible change. When we are clear about who we are and the direction we wish to go, it is easier to make the changes that we want to see. We believe that everyone deserves to be celebrated; identity therapy is a helpful part of getting clear on the kinks in your personal identity development, and taking steps together to smooth them out.
HOW IS IDENTITY TERAPY DIFFERENT FROM REGULAR THERAPY?
Identity therapy is not that different in terms of methodology. But, you can bet that the person offering this type of service is tremendously prepared to assist you on your journey, based on their own lived experience, professional experiences, and training. Lindsey offers an accepting, bias- and judgement-free ear. The emphasis of identity therapy is on you, and your goal of understanding the aspects of you that tie your identity together. While other therapeutic goals may also be on the table, like anxiety, mood, relationships; you can expect to work with someone that understands the mental health benefits of solid identity: greater self-esteem, understanding your positive qualities and feeling that life is right.
